Hand Thrown High Fire Stoneware
by Mark Arnegard
Arne's art is influenced greatly by
his time spent river running,
hiking and mountain biking in northern Arizona.
Born
in California; growing up in Redlands, he moved to Flagstaff in
1967
to study forestry at Northern Arizona University. Instead he
discovered
clay and earned a B.F.A. in ceramics in 1972
.
He
has been throwing pots in Flagstaff ever since graduating.
His
gallery/studio name is Arne Ceramics, located on the famous
Route
66 highway....out west.
Each piece is hand made on site. All drawings, graphics, and
glazing
are
original creations of "Arne" and hand applied in the studio.
Each
piece is "fired" twice in one of the multiple kilns on site.
Firing
temperatures
reach 2400 degrees Fahrenheit. All glazes are
lead/toxin
free. All items are dishwasher and microwave safe! Soft,
rounded
edges provide long lasting chip resistant use.
If you are visiting Flagstaff or the Grand Canyon; stop by the studio/gallery for a first hand look at the complete body of work. We are always open Tuesday through Saturday, 12-5 or almost anytime by appointment.
